Located on the south-east face of the Py hill, which separates the hamlet of Morgon from the village of Villié-Morgon.
Origin
From three plots of very old, gobelet-trained vines on steep slopes in the La Côte du Py climat.
Winemaking
Hand-harvested, grapes macerated in vats.
Maturing
15 months in vats.
Tasting notes
Deep garnet colour; the nose reveals subtle notes of blackcurrant, blackberry and red fruit. Fleshy and concentrated on the palate, with a finish that softens over time.
Food pairing
Game in sauce, coq au vin, red meats; with age, it pairs very well with very slightly mature soft cheeses (Munster, Saint-Nectaire…).
